Il y a 25 ans disparaissait \u00e0 Conakry l’une des plus grandes figures du mouvement afro-am\u00e9ricain des droits civiques. On lui doit le slogan \u00a0\u00bb Black Power\u00a0\u00bb qui a boulevers\u00e9 l’Am\u00e9rique s\u00e9gr\u00e9gationniste. Tribun inv\u00e9t\u00e9r\u00e9, membre influent du Black Panther Party, il avait pris ses distances avec le pacifisme de Martin Luther King, appelant la communaut\u00e9 noire \u00e0 une \u00e9mancipation structurelle. Recherch\u00e9 par la CIA, il s’\u00e9tait \u00e9tabli en Guin\u00e9e avec son \u00e9pouse d’alors, la chanteuse sud-africaine Miriam Makeba. Panafricaniste convaincu, conseiller du r\u00e9volutionnaire guin\u00e9en, il avait d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de s’appeler Kwame Tour\u00e9, en hommage aux leaders Kwame N’Krumah et S\u00e9kou Tour\u00e9.
